Part 2 Washingtonian Post #conspiracy theories “How conspiracy theories spread from the Internet’s darkest corners.”

In this piece by the Washington Post written by Travis View are some clear insights into the Q movement and how effective it is. This article focusing on the #ReleasetheMemo campaign, keep in mind that the writer may not have the proper perspective at times he notes correctly that it was effective
QAnon’s “researchers” have figured out how to shape national conversations.
Then the writer goes on to make this statement an unsubstantiated opinion without much thought
The fast spread of QAnon, despite the insanity of the conspiracy theory’s premise, shows that these shadowy parts of the Internet already have influence.
And then again it seems he can not keep from touting the success of the movement once more
Just try hatching a new political movement today and reaching 58 percent awareness in less than a year with no budget and little more than posts on an anonymous message board.
Its noted in this article that the statistics for human trafficking were wrong. This is a matter of opinion as yes the methods were different for gathering the data for 2017-2018 than from the years of Obama administration which are reflecting a much broader source for the arrests tabulated none the less the numbers are real. One can look on the White House Press Statement for the 2017 numbers as they relate to the Obama years
The United States is a source, transit, and destination country for men, women, and children – both United States citizens and foreign nationals – victimized by human trafficking.
-
In FY 2017, DHS’s Immigration and Customs Enforcement Homeland Security Investigations (ICE/HSI) initiated 833 human trafficking cases, resulting in 1,602 arrests and 578 convictions, and identified 518 victims of human trafficking.
-
The HHS-funded National Human Trafficking Hotline (NHTH) received reports of 8,686 unique cases of potential trafficking in FY 2017, identifying 21,644 potential victims.
The key number being arrest 1602 which is on par with previous year of 1952 arrests.
So have a listen I have included the two part video links below. Feel free to comment and let us know what you think. Remember that part of the disinformation method is to mix unsubstantiated opinion with the facts
